Mike

"In terms of the product - great. I used the hamstring, hip and groin Spiders. The instructions were simple and my mate was able to apply them really easily. I put them on the day before (the race) to get a feel for them and to see if they would last a day and night before the race. All good on race day. Typically I have been taking Nurofen Plus at around the 34km mark in training. During the race I started my first batch (of Nurofen) at lap 7 (60km). I did this more from a management point of view as still having 100km to go I didn't want to deteriorate too soon. Truthfully though, the pain wasn't the same as it was in training. So I effectively doubled the time in which I would normally need to resort to pain killers. I definitely advocate the use of the tape - I don't think the distances over and above the marathon are normal on the body and so it becomes relative to when one would start to feel niggles. I think 60km is a good benchmark to have sustained purely on the tape alone. It also removes easily, so post race, you don't lose your skin when tearing the tape off your body." - Mike Le Roux
